Care, curate and create your garden

Services

Whether you'd like your garden and lawn maintained all year round, or it's a one-off job that needs tackling, there are a range of options to suit your needs.

Monthly care and maintenance packages, which typically run from March through to December, start at £30/visit for a small, low maintenance garden and depend on the size of your garden and frequency of visits you'd like. These plans are tailored to your garden and needs, which will be discussed with you at a visit to your garden prior to confirming the booking, and form the basis of our working schedule so you can be sure you won't be left wondering when you'll next get a visit. One-off jobs are subject to availability but depending on the nature can usually be accommodated at relatively short notice.

I decided, from the start, that as far as possible the tools I use should be powered electronically or manual so as to minimise the impact on the environment and to offer you a quieter, more pleasant experience whilst working in your garden. We don't take green waste offsite but it is left tidied and, wherever possible, composted to reuse in the garden at a later date - advice and assistance with this is happily given if required, including starting a new compost heap.

Tasks

Seasonal tasks

Every gardener knows there's always a job that needs doing.

Here are some things that need thinking about at the moment:

Pots in winter

Pots containing hardy plants should be raised off the ground - either by pot feet or simply some bricks/blocks - to allow water to drain through the pot and prevent it from becoming waterlogged. Make sure the pot is steady so that it doesn’t get blown over.

Pots containing borderline or half-hardy plants should be moved somewhere protected from the worst of the cold weather. Usually a shed or garage will be fine, though if in doubt also wrap the pot in horticultural fleece, hessian or bubble wrap. Ideally move the pot before the soil gets too wet to avoid the risk of it freezing.

About me

A gardener with attention to detail, I care for and nurture the plants in your garden rather than just doing the heavy work.

Working outdoors, with plants and nature, getting creative and maintaining gardens that I know others will get enjoyment from, taps into a lot of what's important to me, it's a subject I've always been interested in and found any excuse to get my hands dirty even before having a garden of my own.

Wherever possible, I prefer to use organic or natural methods as I believe it's important to leave as small an impact as possible on a gardens natural biodiversity. That's also why I prioritise electronic or manual equipment over petrol alternatives as much as possible.

Based in Tonbridge, Kent, I work in an area between Borough Green (N), Marden (E), Frant (S), and Edenbridge (W), including Sevenoaks, Kings Hill, Paddock Wood, Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge and Westerham.

Other areas may be available on request.
